As winter fades and spring approaches, those who forge ahead take the lead. In this season of renewal, Haitai Solar has brought more exciting news. On February 5th, the groundbreaking ceremony for Haitai Solar’s 500MW wind power project in Gaochang District, Turpan City, was successfully held, injecting strong momentum into the new year. The ceremony was attended by key officials including Ma Xueliang, Secretary of the Turpan Municipal Party Committee; Keyser Keyum, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Maimaiti Shawuti, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress and Director; Xiao Jianwu, Secretary and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Municipal Committee; Tang Hongjie, Standing Committee Member and Executive Vice Mayor; Shan Liping, Standing Committee Member and Secretary of the Gaochang District Party Committee; and Wang Yong, Chairman of Haitai Solar.

The project is located in the Xiaocaohu Wind Zone of Turpan and involves a total planned investment of RMB 2 billion. It includes the construction of a 500MW wind power plant and supporting infrastructure, along with 50MW/100MWh of energy storage capacity. Once completed, the project is expected to generate approximately 900 million kWh of electricity annually, resulting in RMB 200 million in output. Compared to a coal-fired power plant of the same scale, it will save approximately 270,000 tons of standard coal per year, reduce CO₂ emissions by 720,000 tons, cut NOₓ emissions by about 161 tons, lower particulate emissions by around 28 tons, and reduce SO₂ emissions by approximately 144 tons annually. The project will significantly help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, curb greenhouse gas emissions, and minimize environmental pollution. It plays a vital role in building a new power system and developing a large-scale clean energy demonstration base.

With abundant wind and solar resources, Turpan has tremendous potential for new energy development. Haitai Solar’s 500MW wind power project in Gaochang District marks another milestone in the company’s business expansion. Haitai Solar is fully committed to advancing the construction schedule, ensuring safety, and accelerating project commissioning. The company strives to make this project a benchmark and model for wind power development, contributing to Turpan’s green energy transition and high-quality economic development.
